Srinagar, Aug 30 (KNO) : The Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, and Muhammad Yasin Malik Thursday said that thrashing inmates and vandalizing the property of four militants and torching their homes was a revenge and frustration on part of forces which is against all the principles of humanity, democracy and justice.

In a joint statement issued to (KNO), the leadership said that if the policy of repression is not stopped forth with, the situation is all set to take an ugly turn and the amount of anger it will trigger would be difficult to control.

The Leadership strongly denounced the detention of 70-year-old father of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Reyaz Naikoo and two brothers of another militant Lateef Tiger besides arresting nearly one dozen youth in Pulwama district stating that these attempts are aimed at breaking the resolve of people of Kashmir but such moves are destined to fail.

The Leadership termed the arrest of second son of Syed Salahudin, Syed Shakeel Ahmed ( a government employee) stating that earlier NIA had arrested elder son of Salahudin, Shahid Yousuf and now they arrested his second son which is nothing but a political vendetta to build pressure on the militant leader to quit. They said arresting the relations of militant leaders can’t break the commitment of those who are fighting for a sacred cause that is to free Kashmir from the clutches of forcible control.

The leadership said that earlier last year, nearly one dozen resistance leaders were arrested by the NIA and ED including some women leaders who continue to remain lodged in Tihar Jail but that couldn’t break the resolve of freedom loving people of Kashmir as the struggle gained more impetus.
